The online poker scene looses one of the biggest and most innovative names to another big and innovative gambling operator on the online gambling scene. PokerRoom has been sold to the European betting giant Bwin. PokerRoom was one of the first really big and successful online poker sites around and the poker room has really showed the way for a lot of other online poker sites. A lot of the features the modern online poker players takes for granted at all poker sites are innovations and improvements made by PokerRoom in the early days of online poker. Avatars are one example of such an innovation. The PokerRoom brand has grown to become one of the strongest brands in the industry over the last decade and they are all over the European market with regional versions and support teams for some of the key markets. The deal with Bwin means that the brand will no longer stand alone Bwin Interactive has announced that they are taking over the brand with immediate effect. The deal meant that PokerRoom offered all the gamblers to follow them to Bwins online poker network or to cash out their remaining balances. The players at PokerRoom have nothing to be afraid of during the change over procedure. Bwin is one of the largest online gambling operators in the online industry and they have a very good reputation among the European players. Bwin operates the largest online gambling group in the world! Bwin offers all kinds of online games from online poker rooms, to betting and online bingo, and of course online casinos. The addition of PokerRoom will help Bwin consolidate their position as the largest gambling provider in the world. There is no doubt that Bwin will win even more market shares from this deal. Bwin Interactive intends to take advantage of the PokerRooms success in some of the markets that Bwin are not as strongly represented in, such as Eastern Europe, Mexico, the UK, Canada, some of South American, and additional emerging markets.
