The Danish poker pro, Peter Eastgate was the youngest player ever to win the World Series of Poker last year when he won the tournament. This record did not last longer than a year because this years poker champion surpassed the young Dane. The new champion is a 21-year old kid named Joe Cada. Cada is almost one year younger than Peter Eastgate was when he won the WSOP Main Event. Joe Cada won the title this morning when he beat the twice his age player David Moon heads up. Joe Cada cashed in $8.547.042 for his win and his heads up opponent took home $5.182.928. Cada started the heads up with the chip lead and even though the fight was fierce the young player kept his head cool and took the first prize. It took 87 hands before the final winner could be announced. The winning hand gave Cada a pair of nines and Moon a queen and a jack in the same suit, but Cadas pairs was enough for him to win the massive first prize. This years WSOP Main Event started back in June where 6494 players was ready at the tables to take a shot at the first prize and a ticket to instant fame. The final table has been on hold until now because of the American broadcasting companies, so the players have had some time to hone their skills before the final table. The 21-year old player started playing poker at the age of 16. When he turned 18 he started playing online poker at PokerStars and at 19 he started playing live poker at casinos in Canada. He won some cash and took part in tournaments in the Bahamas and Costa Rica. He is now playing online poker for a living and wins around 2000 hands per day under the nickname jcada99 at PokerStars.
