The Absolute Poker and UltimateBet fraud scandals are still very much object of attention in the online poker player community, why the people who allegedly were involved in the scandal not surprisingly attracts media attention whenever they surface. One of the people is Allan Grimard, who poker players know as “AJ Green”. He was the main character and subject of speculation in the discussion about the “hole card” debacle, on which players still seek closure. According to the online gambling information portal Gambling911 it seems that Grimard is living la dolce vita in Costa Rica, the home of a lot of gambling companies. Apparently Grimard is building a huge building in Los Suenos, a Pacific coast resort. Furthermore he’s believed to be driving an expensive SUV and sailing a major yacht. How a low level supervisor at an online gambling company, who also allegedly was involved with the poker company, all of a sudden is wealthy and has money to wallow in all these expensive things, is quite a mystery. Absolute Poker has not identified Grimard as one of the fraudsters behind the scandal though, in spite of extended investigations by both Gaming Associates and the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. Grimard, born in Canada, was supposedly a close friend of Scott Tom, the widely regarded Absolute Poker founder, Scott Tom, another name appearing in the report from 911. The online gambling information portal claims that Tom’s dad is the Absolute Poker investor, for whom a US indictment is being held. They don’t know what kind of charges are involved and it doesn’t appear that the indictment has been covered to a wide extend, in spite of the many millions of dollars involved in the hole card cheating scandal at Absolute Poker. Neither Absolute Poker's management nor investors will travel to the US, because they fear more indictments, according to 911, who say they have their information from insiders. This is despite the fact that Scott Tom no more has anything to do with the company, now owned by Joe Norton's Tokwiro Enterprises group, former chief of Kahnawake. The two companies Absolute Poker and UltimateBet, has recently stated a planned fusion, a supernetwork called Cereus. This is possibly a really poor choice for a name, as Wikipedia describes it as either a cactus or "Bacillus cereus - an endemic, soil-dwelling, Gram-positive, rod-shaped, beta hemolytic bacteria that causes food borne illness!" Other developments in the case is that the company from which both Absolute Poker and UltimateBet have their licenses, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, only just hired Frank Catania, a former New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement director, and respected online gambling regulatory consultant, to lead a team to investigate the cheating scandals at both online gambling sites. The massive posting traffic on leading online poker message boards indicates that the poker playing community hasn’t been satisfied with a closure on the scandals, which probably are the worst scandal ever to have occurred in online pokers relatively short history. Scepticism and doubt are still keywords because of the lack of publicly exposure and pursuit of the perpetrators of the massive frauds, although Tokwiro brought in services to recommend remedial measures, paid a $500.000 fine to the Kahnawake Gaming Commission in respect of the Absolute Poker debacle addressed to complaints of prejudiced players. Many players stress tha fact that the two websites first reaction when accused by players of cheating was to deny everything, which was proven by expert player investigations, resulting in Tokwiro finally taking action.
