In Germany (Kabelkiosk), Poland (UPC), and Portugal (Clix) the network will expand on new platforms. After these new agreements have been launched, the Poker Channel now reaches around 17 million cable and satellite viewers in 20 European countries. Along with the plans to launch more poker TV the Poker Channel also announced that they will bring its first ever live horse-racing coverage that will go on air every evening broadcasting from popular tracks in the US including Philadelphia Park, Hawthorne and Tampa Bay. Racing coverage is broadcast live on the Channel in all markets except the UK and Ireland. The new initiative is made because of massive viewer demand. The Poker Channel will broadcast live with commentary, betting tips and guides from professionals within the sport. There will be interviews with jockeys and trainers and a lot of extra information on pokerchanneleurope.coms website. The managing director from The Poker Channel, Chris White said: "We're delighted to announce these new distribution agreements, as we increase our investment in new programming. After poker, sports betting often tops the list of what our viewers want, so we're pleased to be able to offer live racing coverage at their request."
