Sic Bo - rules and strategy
Sic Bo is a dice game. The table the game is played on in Sic Bo is similar to a roulette table with four fields where the stakes are placed. It is played with 3 dices that determine the outcome of the game.
Single numbers - 'single number' bets
The bottom row of the Sic Bo table is divided into six fields, where you can place so-called "single number bets”. In this row you simply place your bet on a specific number and hope the dice shows that number. If one of the dices shows the number that you have chosen to bet on, you win and get your money back 1:1. If two dices show your numbers, you win again 2:1 and 3:1 at three dices. Let us take an example: You bet on number three, and two of the three dices lands on three. In this case you get double the amount of your bet back.
Combinations of two numbers
If you bet on combinations of two numbers, you are obviously in for larger wins. But it goes without saying that it is harder to achieve. The payoff is 6:1 with two numbers. For example: You bet on a five and a one. The dice is thrown and shows respectively 1, 3 and 5, which means that you win your wager 6 times again. Using a two-character combination can only win once. This means that even if you throw a fiver and a one as in the example, you still only win 6 times your stake.
The sum of three numbers
You can also bet on the total sum of the three dices. At three and eighteen, you always lose. Your winning depends on what the dices show:
Four or seventeen: 50:1
Five or sixteen: 25:1
Six or fifteen: 15:1
Seven or fourteen: 10:1
Eight or thirteen: 6:1
Nine or twelve: 5:1
Ten or elleven: 5:1
Low or high bets
Here you are betting that the overall result of the dice either gets between four and ten (low bet) or between eleven and seventeen (high bet). Winnings on a high or low bet pay out 1:1.
If the dices land on three identical numbers, then you lose your money, whether there is a high or low bet.
Betting on three identical or couples
With this bet you are betting on three identical numbers. Winnings are obviously higher; actually you can win up to 150:1 depending on the casino's payout schedule. The bet with the biggest winning potential you can bet on is a three-combination, three identical. You can also choose to wager on all six possible trios at once (this is called "Any Triple"). Or you can choose to bet on a pair, which means that you bet on the two dices land on the same number. Payouts are as follows:
Trio: 120-150:1
Any Triplet: 25:1
Pair: 11:1
